What can we work on together?

You might feel caught in the same disagreement, find it hard to talk without becoming defensive, or notice that practical responsibilities have crowded out connection. A change in work, parenting, caregiving, or your relationship itself may bring different expectations into focus. You do not need to agree on everything before asking for help.

  • Understanding recurring communication patterns and what each partner experiences.
  • Talking about needs, expectations, and boundaries more clearly.
  • Exploring disconnection and the changes each person hopes to see.
  • Navigating transitions and decisions that affect the relationship.
  • Making space for each partner’s perspective while discussing shared goals.

Who can we see?

Seema Sharma, Pre-Licensed Professional, MA works with adults and couples, with an emphasis on relationship concerns, boundaries, and life transitions. Her background includes navigating multiple cultural worlds, and her approaches include humanistic, cognitive behavioral, compassion-focused, and solution-focused therapy. She practices under the supervision of Randi Williams, LPC, CPCS.

Meg Bearman, LPC/MHSP, ATR also works with couples. Her integrative, strengths-based approach includes exploring relationships, communication, and the experiences that shape how people connect. Conversation is central; couples do not need to choose art therapy to work with her.

You can compare Meg and Seema before contacting the practice. Tell us whether you have a clinician preference and what would help each of you feel comfortable starting.

What happens at the beginning?

The consultation can cover what brings you in, the kind of support you want, the appointment format, and practical questions. Ask how the therapist structures the initial work, handles individual conversations within couples therapy, and explains confidentiality. Confirm those arrangements before beginning.

Early sessions can help clarify the concerns each partner brings and the goals you want to explore. Therapy does not guarantee that a relationship will continue or produce a particular decision. It provides a setting to understand patterns and consider changes with professional support.

Can I attend alone for relationship concerns?

Yes. Individual therapy can address relationship patterns, boundaries, and communication even if a partner is not attending. Individual and couples appointments have different purposes and fees. Let us know which format you are seeking so we can discuss an appropriate starting point.

Are joint sessions always appropriate?

No. If there is fear, coercion, violence, or concern about what could happen after speaking openly, ask to discuss safety and the format privately before scheduling a joint session. Couples therapy should not be assumed to be the right setting for every relationship. The practice can discuss whether its services fit your circumstances.

How long are sessions, and what do they cost?

Our listed couples appointments are 80 minutes. Fees differ between licensed and pre-licensed clinicians; see current appointments and fees and the guide to therapy costs and insurance. Confirm the fee for your appointment before booking. The practice is out of network, and reimbursement depends on your plan and the services covered.

Can we attend online?

Ask about the available format and where each partner will be physically located. Meg offers online therapy in Georgia and Tennessee; Seema offers online therapy in Georgia only. Eligibility needs to be confirmed for everyone participating. In-person appointments are at 32 Lenox Pointe NE, Atlanta, GA 30324. Our online therapy in Georgia and Tennessee page explains the practical questions to discuss.
