You may be keeping up with work and responsibilities while feeling overwhelmed inside. Perhaps you replay conversations, worry about getting things wrong, struggle to say no, or feel stretched between your own needs and other people’s expectations. You do not need to decide whether these experiences meet a particular diagnosis before asking for support.
- Persistent worry or difficulty letting a concern go.
- Perfectionism, self-criticism, or pressure to meet competing expectations.
- Stress connected with work, caregiving, relationships, or a major change.
- Wanting clearer boundaries and a different way to respond when demands build.
How do Meg and Seema approach anxiety?
Meg Bearman, LPC/MHSP, ATR uses a strengths-based, integrative approach. Work may explore your expectations, relationships, past experiences, and the ways you respond to stress. Conversation is central; creative expression is available when you want it and when it fits your goals.
Seema Sharma, Pre-Licensed Professional, MA draws on cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, compassion-focused work, and solution-focused approaches. Her clinical interests include boundaries, caregiving, relationships, and life transitions. She practices under the supervision of Randi Williams, LPC, CPCS.
The approaches are discussed with you rather than chosen solely from a label on a page. You can ask what sessions may involve, whether there will be ideas to practice between appointments, and how you will evaluate whether the work is helping.
What can the first sessions focus on?
A useful starting point is a recent situation: what was happening, what you noticed, how you responded, and what you wished had felt different. Your therapist may also ask about your history, routines, relationships, and existing support. You can share at your own pace.
Goals can be concrete: speaking more openly about your needs, approaching a recurring worry differently, or making a demanding week feel more manageable. The work can also leave room for understanding why certain situations carry so much weight. There is no promise that worry disappears completely or that everyone needs the same number of sessions.
Can I start if I am still functioning well at work or home?
Yes. You can ask for help even when other people see you as capable or successful. In the consultation, explain the effort it takes to keep going and what you want to change. The question is what support would be useful, not whether you have reached a particular breaking point.
What if anxiety overlaps with something else?
You do not have to choose only one concern. Anxiety can be part of a conversation about low mood, past experiences, relationships, or life changes. Tell your therapist about the whole picture rather than trying to fit yourself to a single service page.
Where can I attend, and what does it cost?
In-person appointments are at 32 Lenox Pointe NE, Atlanta, GA 30324. Meg provides online therapy in Georgia and Tennessee; Seema provides online therapy in Georgia only. See current appointments and fees for individual session rates and payment information. You can also read what to expect at your first therapy appointment or compare Meg and Seema before you inquire.
